National Theatre

The National Theatre (Hungarian: Nemzeti színház) in Budapest, called Nemzeti for short, is the most important spoken theatre in Hungary. The building of the National Theatre from 2001 was equipped with one of the most complex technical systems for several large-scale stages. A special feature is the 12 by 12 metre retractable plateau in the stage.

Reopened in 2022, the Hungarian State Opera is the largest opera house in Hungary and a significant representative of Budapest's neo-Renaissance architecture. The new computer-controlled upper and lower stage technology runs absolutely silently and can be controlled fluidly. Even the three-part orchestra pit can be adjusted with lifts.
